Eco-Friendly Mobile Phone the Samsung Reclaim

Samsung and Sprint have launched their new mobile phone the Reclaim. The Reclaim is billed as an eco-friendly mobile device which is the perfect perfect phone for the eco-conscious consumer. The phone has four basic "green" benefits which come in the form of the material, the packaging, the manual, and the charger.
Forty percent of the phone's outer casing is made from a bio-plastic material derived from corn. The reclaim is free of polyvinly chloride, phthalates, and almost free of bromated flame retardants.
There is no manual but an electronic one can be downloaded from the Sprint website. I'm sure that many will agree, no paper manual is a great thing just from a lifestyle perspective. Electronics manuals simply seem to pool together in one random drawer or closet in households across the globe only to be discovered and thrown out years later during a particularly thorough Spring cleaning or when you move.
The outer packaging and the phone tray inside the Reclaims box are made from 70% recycled materials and the images onthe box are printed with a soy based ink.
The phone charger consumes 12 times less power than than the Energy Star standard for standby power consumption.
The Samsung Reclaim is available from Sprint in blue and green and retails for under $50 with a new service plan.
